Given 23x + 29y = 98  ------- (1)

Given 29x + 23y = 110  ------ (2)

On adding (1) & (2), we get

= > 23x + 29y + 29x + 23y = 98 + 110

= > 52x + 52y = 208

= > x + y = 4   ------- (3)


On subtracting  (1) & (2), we get

= > 29x + 23y - 23x - 29y = 12

= > 6x - 6y = 12

= > x - y = 2    --------------- (4)



On solving (3) & (4), we get

= > x + y = 4

= > x - y = 2

      2x = 6

        x = 3.



Substitute x = 3 in (3), we get

= > x + y = 4

= > 3 + y = 4

= > y =  4 - 3

= > y = 1.



Therefore the value of (x/y) = (3/1)

                                               = 3.
