Question:-

The mid value of a class internal is 17 and width of the class is 10. The lower limit and upper limit of the class are ?

Answer:-

⇒ Let upper limit and lower limit be x and y

 \frac{x + y}{2} = 17....1

x + y = 17 \times 2 \\ x + y = 34 \: \: \: \: \: \:

Now, according to the question,

x - y = 10....2

Adding equation ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) we get,

 ∴\: 2x = 44 \\ x = 22

And

44 - y = 10 \\ ∴y = 34

∴ \: Required \: class \: interval  = 34 - \: 22.
