425 kg Sugar can be brought in Rs. 8500

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Explanation :-}}}}

Given :

150 kg Sugar costs = Rs. 3000

To Find :

Sugar purchased for Rs 8500

Solution :

\textbf{\small{\underline{Method I}}}

\textbf{By Proportion -}

Consider the Sugar purchased for Rs 8500 as x

3000 : 150 : 8500 : x

\boxed{\sf{Mean \times Mean\:Terms = Extreme \times Extreme \:Terms}}

Mean Terms = 150 and 8500

Extreme Terms = 3000 and x

\longrightarrow \: 150 \times 8500 = 3000 \times x

\longrightarrow \: 1275000 = 3000x

\longrightarrow \: x =  \dfrac{1275000}{3000}

\longrightarrow \: x = 425

\therefore 425 kg Sugar can be brought in Rs. 8500

\rule{300}{1.5}

\textbf{\small{\underline{Method II}}}

\textbf{By Unitary Method -}

Cost of 1 kg Sugar

\longrightarrow \: 3000 \div 150

\longrightarrow \: 20

\rule{300}{1.5}

Divide 8500 by Cost of sugar per Kg.

\longrightarrow \: 8500 \div 20

\longrightarrow \: 425

\therefore 425 kg Sugar can be brought in Rs. 8500
