Solution :-

Given : Total number of students in the class studying English, maths or both subjects = 150

Students studying only English = 62 %

⇒ 62 % of 150

⇒ (150*62)/100

⇒ 9300/100

= 93 students are studying English

Students studying only Maths = 68 %

⇒ 68 % of 150

⇒ (150*68)/100

⇒ 10200/100

= 102 students are studying Maths.

Total students studying both English and Maths = Students studying English + Students studying Maths - Students studying English, Maths or both subjects

⇒ (93+ 102) - 150

⇒ 195 - 150

= 45 students

Hence, 45 students are studying both subjects.

Given :

number of students studying english, maths or both = 150

Number of students studying only  english = 62%
=62X150/100
=62X15/10
=62X3/2
=31X3
=93

n(E)=93

number students studying only maths=68%
=68x150/100
=34x3
=102
n(m)=102

Number of students studying both maths and English = [Number of students studying maths only +number of students studying only English] -  150
=(93+102 )-150
=195-150=45
∴Number of students studying both maths and English =45
