Given :-

Edge of cube = 18 cm

To find :-

Lateral surface area of the cube.

Solution :-

Lateral surface area of cube = 4a²

LSA = 4 × (18)² cm

LSA = 4 × 324 cm

LSA = 1296 cm²

Procedure :-

→ This question of from the surface area of cubes and cuboids.

→ In this first we will do the square of 18 means we will multiply 18 by itself 2 times and then we will multiply it by 4.

→ The lateral surface area of cube means when we talk about the sides of a cube, we don't include top and bottom in that.

→ As we know that cube has 4 sides therefore we use 4a² formula. where a = length of sides which can be in cm/m.

Other formule :-

→ Total surface area of cube = 6a²

→ Total surface area of cuboid = 2(lb + bh + hl)

→ Curved surface area of cuboid = 2h(l + b)

\sf{Where}

l = Length

b = breadth

h = Height

Answer:

Given :-

  • The edge of cube is 18 cm.

To Find :-

  • What is the lateral surface area of cube.

Formula Used :-

\boxed{\bold{\large{Lateral\: surface\: area\: =\: 4a^{2}}}}

Solution :-

The edge of cube is 18 cm.

According to the question by using the formula we get,

L.S.A = 4(18)²

L.S.A = 4 × 324

L.S.A = 1296 cm²

\therefore The lateral surface area of cube is 1296 cm² .
