16. A spherical mirror produces an image of magnification on a screen placed at a distance
40 cm from the mirror,
(a) Write the type of mirror.
(b) Find the distance of the image from the object.
(c) What is the focal length of the mirror?
(d) Draw the ray diagram to show the image formation in this case. ​

(a) Concave Mirror

(b) The distance of image from the object is zero, i.e. a real inverted image of the same size is formed at the same place where object is placed. (Actually the object is placed at the centre of curvature).

(c) Focal length of the mirror f = R/2 = - 50 cm/2 = - 25 cm.(according to sign convention)
