travels 50/1/2km every hour for the next 2/1/2 hours. What distance does the train travel during
the six hours?

during first 3 1/2 hr distance travelled(s) = 45 1/3 × 3 1/2 = 37/2 km

during next 2 1/2 hr distace (s')= 50 1/2 × 2 1/2 = 26 km

total distance = s + s'= 44.5 km
