External dimensions

= 40cm × 34 cm × 30cm

thickness = 1cm

length = 40 - (1+1) =38cm

breadth = 34 - (1+1) = 32cm

height = 30 - ( 1+ 1 ) = 28cm

Outer volume = 40cm × 34 cm × 30cm

= 40800cm³

Inner volume = 38cm × 32cm × 28cm

= 34048cm³

Volume of wood

= Volume of external portion - Volume of internal portion

= 40800cm³ - 34048cm³

= 6752cm³

hence, the volume is 6752cm³

Answer:

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

Volume of cuboid = 40 cm × 34 cm × 30 cm

Volume of cuboid = 40800 cm³

Inner dimensions,

Length = 40 - ( 1 + 1 ) cm = 38 cm

Breadth = 34 - ( 1 + 1 ) cm = 32 cm

Height = 30 - ( 1 + 1 ) cm = 28 cm

Volume of cuboid = 38 cm × 32 cm × 28 cm

Volume of cuboid = 34048 cm³

Remaining volume = 40800 - 34048 cm³
