a) Cathode rays are negatively charged particles. These rays originate from the negatively charged electrodes.

b) Canal rays depend upon the nature of gas present in the tube. These rays are composed of positive ionized ions formed by the ionization of gas present in the tube.

c) In the nucleus of an atom, there are protons and neutrons present. The neutrons and protons are together known as nucleons.

d) The outermost orbit of an electrically neutral atom cannot have more than 8 electrons. This is known as the octet rule/octet configuration.
