V=IR    (OHM'S LAW)             ...(i)

R between 6 Ω, 1 Ω and 3 Ω:

1 Ω and 3 Ω are in series

therefore,

R (series) = 1 Ω + 3 Ω = 4 Ω

now, resistance between 6 Ω and 4 Ω, they are in parallel

therefore,

1/ R (parallel) = 1/6 +1/4

                     = 2/12 + 3/12

                     = 5/12

R (parallel) =  12/5  = 2.4 Ω

now resistance between 3.6 Ω, 2.4 Ω and 3 Ω. they are in series.

therefore,

R (series) = 3.6 Ω + 2.4 Ω + 3 Ω

               =  9 Ω

now, putting values in (i)

4.5 = 9 I

I = 4.5/9

 = 0.5 A           (0.5 ampere)                         .....answer
