16. For diwali celebration, a packet of 'ANARS' is bought. In that, there are 5 conical ANARS, with red glittering
paper wrapped on it. If the radius of the base of ANARAS is 7cm and slant height is 10cm, find the total
paper used to decorate the ANAR.

1100 sq. cm. of paper is used to paper used to decorate the 5 Anars.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

radius(r) = 7 cm

slant height(l)= 10 cm

We have to find out the quantity of paper used to decorate the 5 conical anars.

Solution,

Since the decoration is done on its curved surface and the anar is in conical shape, so we calculate its curved surface area of cone.

Curved Surface area of cone is equal to π times radius times slant height.

Framing in equation form, we get;

Curved Surface area of cone = \pi rl

On substituting the values, we get;

Curved Surface area of 1 cone = \frac{22}{7}\times7\times10=22\times10=220\ cm^2

So, 220 sq. cm. of paper is used to decorate one anar.

Here we use the unitary method to find out the quantity of paper used to decorate 5 anars

Quantity of paper used to decorate 5 anars is equal to Curved Surface area of 1 cone multiplied with 5.

Quantity of paper used to decorate 5 anars = 5 × Curved Surface area of 1 cone

Quantity of paper used to decorate 5 anars = 5\times220=1100\ cm^2

Hence 1100 sq. cm. of paper is used to paper used to decorate the 5 Anars.
