16. Give reasons for the following:
1)Lithium atom is smaller than Sodium atom.

First of all its Lithium :-P :-D

The reason is lithium and Sodium belong to same group 1. Now as we move down the group the size of shells increases, and hence Lithium has 2 shells and Sodium has 3 shells, that means more the smaller shells are, more they are small..hence Lithium atom is smaller than sodium atom.
