16. If A speaks the truth 80% of the times, B speaks the truth 60% of the times. What is the probability that they tell the truth at the same time

absh90: probability that A speaks truth is 80/100=0.8 probability that B speaks truth is 60/100=0.6 since both A and B are independent of each other so PROBABILITY OF A INTERSECTION B = P(A) *P(B) =0.8 * 0.6 = 0.48

[80/100]×[60/100]

=4800/10000

=48/100

=48%

prabhu6689: options are 0.14 , 0.48
absh90: 0.48 is correct
prabhu6689: yes. but, how can you explain?
absh90: will you mark me as brainliestbif i explain

48% is the probability

absh90: probability that A speaks truth is 80/100=0.8 probability that B speaks truth is 60/100=0.6 since both A and B are independent of each other so PROBABILITY OF A INTERSECTION B = P(A) *P(B) =0.8 * 0.6 = 0.48
