Answer:

Remains Same

Step-by-step explanation:

For example Let us take the equation

2x–8 =10

=> 2x = 18

=> x = 18/2 = 9

So, 9 is the solution of the equation.

If we multiply 6 on both sides, we get

6(2x –8) =10×6

=> 12x –48 = 60

=> 12x = 108

=> x = 108/12

=> x = 9 (Remains same)

On the other hand if we multiply 5 on both sides,

(2x–8)/5= 10/5

=> (2x–8)/5 = 2

=> 2x–8= 2×5 (By cross multiplication)

=> 2x –8 =10

=> x = 18/2

=> x = 9 (Remains same)

Thus, in both cases we get the same solution.
