Given:

Q 16 In a class of 38 boys, 3 were absent. 20% of the rest did not complete their homework

Q 17: Anil gets 49% marks in an examination. His score is 294. His friend Rajan gets 372 marks

To find :

Q 16 : No of  boys who have completed their homework

Q 17 : Express Rajan's score as per cent.

Solution:

Q 16

No of students present =38-3=35

20 % of 35 did not completed their homework

Thus No of students who did not completed their homework

The students we completed their homework =35-7=28

Q 17

Let the Maximum marks are 100x

Then score of Anil

=49% of 100x

=49x

Thus 49x=392

x=\frac{294}{49}\\=6

So Maximum marks=100 × 6=600

% Marks of Rajan

=\frac{ 372\times 100 }{600}\\\\=62 \%

Answers:

Q 16 :  28 boys have completed their homework

Q 17 :  Rajan's score 62 %
