Number of men = n

Number of women = n

Total population = n+n = 2n

Number of unemployed men = 10% of n, therefore number of unemployed men = 90% of n = 0.9n

Number of employed men = 0.9n

Similarly, number of unemployed women = 45% of n, employed women = 55% of n = 0.55n

Number of employed women = 0.55n

Probability that a randomly selected person is employed = (0.9n+0.55n)/total population

= 1.45n/2n

= 0.725 (which is 72.5%)
