16. In the given figure, PQ||RS, angle PXM = 50° and angle MYS = 120°, find the value of x if reflex angle XMY is X - 20°​

Given: angle PXM=50°, angle MYS=120°

CONSTRUCTION: Contruct a line AB through M parallel to PQ and RS as shown above

As from figure:

angle XMB=angle PXM (Adjacent angles)

=> angle XMB=50° (Since angle PXM=50°)

angle MYR=180-MYS=180-120=60°

=> angle MYR=60°

angle YMB=angle MYR (Adjacent angles)

=> angle YMB=60° (Since angle MYR=60°)

To Find: value of x

Now,

angle XMY= angle YMB + angle XMB

= 60 + 50

=> angle XMY=110°

Therefore,

reflex angle XMY = 360 - angle XMY

=> x - 20 = 360 - 110

=> x = 250 + 20

=> x = 270°
