Here’s your answer…

Given,

16 men complete a work in = 20 days

Formula:

Total work = Efficiency × Time

M1 × D1 = M2 × D2

Calculation:

Work done by 16 men in 20 days = 16 × 20

Work done by 16 men in 12 days = 16 × 12

Remaining work = 16 × 20 – 16 × 12 = 16 (20 – 12) = 16 × 8

If 8 more men join the team, then number of men = 16 + 8 = 24

Let 24 men complete the remaining work in x days, then

According to the question

24 × x = 16 × 8

⇒ x = (16 × 8)/24

∴ x = 16/3 days
