Answer:

Given :  A(5,4) , B(7,5) and C(-3,6)

To Find : draw the image of the triangle ABC under reflection in the line y=3

Solution:

A(5,4) , B(7,5) and C(-3,6)

reflection in the line y=3

Hence x co-ordinate will remain same

y - 3  = 3 - y'

=> y' = 6 - y

New coordinate = ( x , 6 - y)

A' = ( 5 , 2)

B' = ( 7 , 1)

C' = ( -3 , 0)

invariant under this reflection

=> y' = y

=> y = 6 - y

=> 2y = 6

=> y = 3

Any point on y = 3

For example ( 0 , 3) ( 2 , 3) , ( 3 , 3)  are invariant
