2x+x=16
x=no. of girls
2x= no. of boys

yathinabhisista: x=2y-1..............2
Gautam22121998: you have given the total no. of students as 16 which is wrong
yathinabhisista: it is correct question only
MonsieurBrainly: u are using linear equation in 2 variables
yathinabhisista: yes
Gautam22121998: no need to took 2variables...
MonsieurBrainly: gautam what is the answer u got
Gautam22121998: you can not get the answer when the total no. of students is 16
yathinabhisista: in that question there are two condition u observe
Gautam22121998: as the no. of boys or girls can't be in fraction

let x be the number of girls who took part
then the number of boys will be 2x
we know that total number of students is 16
so 2x+x=16
this is the linear equation
report if wrong
if u got it and it is correct then mark as brainliest

yathinabhisista: take them as x and y
MonsieurBrainly: we followed linear equation in 1 variable
yathinabhisista: no in two variables
