There is a fixed joint between the skull and the upper jaw. We can move the lower jaw because the lower jaw is connected to the skull by a movable joint called hinge joint. Fixed joint also occur in hip bone.

Hope it helps u

A joint is the part of the body where two or more bones meet to allow movement. Generally speaking, the greater the range of movement, the higher the risk of injury because the strength of the joint is reduced. The six types of freely movable joint include ball and socket, saddle, hinge, condyloid, pivot and gliding

Immovable joints (called synarthroses) include skull sutures, the articulations between the teeth and the mandible, and the joint found between the first pair of ribs and the sternum.

Jaw, either of a pair of bones that form the framework of the mouth of vertebrate animals, usually containing teeth and including a movable lower jaw (mandible) and fixed upper jaw (maxilla).

The ball and socket joint (or spheroid joint) is a type of synovial joint in which the ball-shaped surface of one rounded bone fits into the cup-like depression of another bone. The distal bone is capable of motion around an indefinite number of axes, which have one common center.
