The limitations of the Green revolution are as follows: - The Green revolution resulted in the loss of soil fertility because of the increased use of chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides. - The continuous use of groundwater for irrigation purposes results in reducing the water table below the ground.

Loss of soil fertility, erosion of soil, soil toxicity, diminishing water resources, pollution of underground water, salinity of underground water, increased incidence of human and livestock diseases and global warming are some of the negative impacts of over adoption of agricultural technologies by the farmers .
3. Unemployment occurs when a person who is actively searching for employment is unable to find work. Unemployment is often used as a measure of the health of the economy.

The major functionaries of our country are:(i) The President who is the head of the state and is the highest formal authority in the country. (ii) The Prime Minister who is the head of the government and one who actually exercises all the government powers.
