Explanation:

These are activities that a farmer can do to promote growth of earthworms and microbes in the field:

First of all, earthworms and microbes share the same environmental conditions. Earthworms get their nutrition from bacteria and conceivably fungi,  protozoa, nematodes. The activity of earthworms in the soil increases shredding and surface area of organic matter therefore increasing the nutrients and humus in the soil.

These are some of the conditions that encourage earthworm and microbes:

1. Keep soil moist

2. Increase organic matter e.g banana leaves

3. Reduce soil compaction

4. Use selected fertilizers and fungicides

5. Good drainage

These are some of the things a farmer can do to promote growth of earthworms and microbes. These organism are beneficial because they increase nutrients, humus and aeration in the soil.
