Answer:

About 40 per cent of rice crop in India is raised under irrigation. However, it is the temporal distribution of rainfall, rather than the total amount of annual rainfall which is more decisive

Drilling method: In this, drilling of land and sowing of seeds is done by two people. It is mostly confined to peninsular India.

Transplantation method: It is practiced in areas of high fertility, high rainfall, and abundant rainfall. This technique involves culturing of seedlings in a nursery and after 4-5 weeks seedlings are planted in fields. The entire process is done by hand. It is, therefore, a very difficult method and requires heavy inputs. But at the same time, it gives some of the highest yields.

Japanese method of rice cultivation is highly adapted in India because the method includes the use of high yielding varieties of seeds. Initial raising of the seedling is done in the nursery and is protected from initial infections and then transferred to fields and planted in rows to make weeding easy. It uses a high dose of fertilizers. The yield obtained through this method is very high.
