i understood the question in two ways so look at the answers...
1. 16 = 15
x - 1 x+1
=> 16(x+1)=15(x-1)
=> 16x+16=15x-15
=> x=-31
2. 16 -1 = 15 +1
x x
=> 16-x=15+x
=> -2x= -1
=> x=0.5
1. 16 = 15
x - 1 x+1
=> 16(x+1)=15(x-1)
=> 16x+16=15x-15
=> x=-31
2. 16 -1 = 15 +1
x x
=> 16-x=15+x
=> -2x= -1
=> x=0.5
