16000 candidates applies for a job . out of which 10% were shortlisted for the final round of interview. if 15% of the candidates who appeared for final round of interview were selected for the job , find the number of candidates who got the job.

Not sure but the answer can be 240 ...

As out of 16000 ,

10% of 16000 that is 1600

were shortlisted for the final round of the interview . Then the question says that 15 % of those selected for the final round of the interview were selected for the job , so they were ,

15% of 1600 that i.e. 240

Were candidates who got the job.


Therefore, 240 candidates got the job.

selected for job interview = 16000*.015= 240.
