QUESTION:-

1600J of work is done when a force of 20N is applied on an object. Calculate the distance through which the object moves.

EXPLANATION:-

We know that:-

Work done=Force×Displacement

  or

W=F×s

so in the question

  • Work done=1600 J
  • Force=20 N
  • Displacement=To be calculated

So let's put the given data in the formula to find displacement

1600 =20×s

s=1600/20

s=80 Metres

distance through which the object moves if 80 metres

Given,

 \rm \to \: work \:  \: W= 1600 \: J \\  \\  \rm \to \: force \:  \: F = 20 \: N \\  \\  \rm \to \: distance \:  \: S \:  =  \: to \: find

We know that,

 \rm \: W = F.S \\  \\  \rm  \implies\: S =  \frac{W}{F}  \\  \\   \rm  \implies\:S =  \frac{1600}{20}  \\  \\  \rm  \implies\:S = 80 \: m

So distance S = 80 m
