Alkaline pH of gut initiates ctivation of protoxin to “Bttoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis in boll worm”.

Answer: Option 3

Explanation:

Bacillus thuringuensis forms protein crystals in their growth period. This crystal contains a insecticidal protein which is toxic in nature. This protein is present as a protoxin in inactive form but when the insect eat the inactive protoxin then it turns to the toxin in the presence of the alkaline pH of the gut. The toxin will bind with the epithelial cells of the midgut and create pores.
