The next series of number would be 10 and 11

if we observe the above sets 17, 14, 15, 12 and 13 we can conclude that :
⇒ the difference between the first and second number is 3
⇒ the difference between the second and third number is 1
⇒ the difference between the third and fourth number is 3
⇒ the difference between the fourth and fifth number is 1

hence I can conclude that the series goes in the 3-1-3-1 manner
∴ option (a) 10, 11 is the correct option
