Here is your answer

 \\  \\  \frac{17(2 -  x) - 5(x + 12)}{1 - 7x}  = 8

by cross multiplication

we get

34-17x -5x -60= 8(1-7x)

-22x-26= 8- 56x

(-22+56)x= 8+26

34x = 34

x=1

Thus , the value of x = 1
