33 x 1 - 16 = 17

16 = (33–1)/2

17 x 2 - 7 = 27

7 = (17–3)/2

27 x 3 - 11 = 70

11 = (27–5)/2

70 x 4 - X = Y

Here, X = (70–7)/2

So Y= 248.5

248.5 x 5 - A = 1122

A = (248.5–9)/2 = 119.75

So, 248.5 x 5 - 119.75 = 1122.75

And [1122.75]=1122 (greatest integer function)

Similarly, the number in place of Y = [248.5] = 248

after solving that missing no is 27

Answer:

Answer is 531

Explanation:

17 x 2 = 34 - (1)² = 33  [(2)² = 2 x 2 = 4 etc.]

33 x 2 = 66 + (2)² = 70

70 x 2 = 140 - (3)² = 131

131 x 2 = 262 + (4)² = 278

Therefore, the next number in the series will be 278 x 2 = 556 - (5)² = 556-25 = 531

Thus, the answer will be 531.
