(17) Ajith covered a distance of 100 km by
train, car and boat. He travelled of the
distance by train, – of the distance by
boat and the remainder by car. Calculate
the distance he travelled by car.

so, ATQ:

x - (3/5x +1/4x +1/8x) = 2

x -39/40x = 2

x/40 = 2

x = 80

thus , the total distance is 80 km.
