Both the sentence express the same meaning but in sentence 1 the subject Sumit is the doer actions for the worm repaired is said to be in the active voice .

A verb in the active voice when the subject is the doer of the action .

In sentence 2 the subject the car is a receiver of the actions of the work was repaired is said to be in passive voice .

A verb is in the passive voice when the subject is the receiver of action .
