Given :-

  • Length of the rectangular field = 10m
  • Breadth of the rectangular field = 8m

To Find :-

  • The cost of fencing the rectangular field at the rate 5 per metre
  • Area of the field

Solution :-

Perimeter of rectangular field = \sf{2(l+b)}

Perimeter of rectangular field =\sf{2(10m+8m)}

Perimeter of rectangular field = \sf{2(18m)}

Perimeter of rectangular field = \sf{36m}

Now the cost of fencing the rectangular field at the rate of 5 per metre

= \sf{Rs(36×5)= Rs180}

Perimeter = 36

  • Cost of fencing = rate × perimeter

Cost of fencing = 36 × 5

Cost of fencing = ₹ 180

  • Area = length × breadth

Area = 10 × 8

Area = 80 m²
