Area of the floor = (14 × 12) m² = 168 m²= 168 × 100 × 100 cm² = 1680000 cm²

Area of one tile = (10 × 7) cm² = 70 cm²

No of tiles required = 1680000/70 = 24000

Cost of 5 tiles = 100

Cost of 1 tile = 5/100

Cost of 24000 tiles = (5/100) × 24000 = ₹1200

Answer - No of tiles required to cover the floor will be 240000 and the cost of it will be ₹1200.

Step-by-step explanation:

the area of floor = l×b

area = 14×12

area = 168m2

now the area of a single tile

l×b

area = 10×70

area = 70cm

(1m = 100cm)

so area = 0.7m2 of a single tile

the \: number \: of \: tiles \: required \:  \:  =  \frac{area \: of \: the \: floor}{area \: of \: a \: single \:  \: tile}

now area of floor = 168m

area of single tile = 0.7m

 \frac{168}{0.7}  = 240

so the number of tiles required is 240 tiles

now 5 ruppes per hundred tiles

so 100/5

= 20₹ cost of a single tile

240×20= 4800

so the cost will be 4800₹
