Step-by-step explanation:

area of path is  area of park with path - area of rectangular park

area of park =l x b= 45 x 30=1350 cm2

area of park with path is =45+2.5+2.5 x 30+2.5+2.5 = 1750cm2

area of path = 1750-1350=400 cm2

Given :

  • Let ABCD represent the rectangular park and the shaded region represent the path 2.5 m wide.

To find :

  • the area of the path, we need to find (Area of rectangle PQRS-Area of rectangle ABCD).

Solution :

We have, PQ = (45+ 2.5+ 2.5) m

= 50 m

PS = (30+ 2.5 + 2.5) m

= 35 m

Area of the rectangle ABCD

= I x b

= 45 x 30 m²

= 1350 m²

Area of the rectanglc PQRS

= l x b

= 50 x 35 m²

= 1750 m²

Area of the path = Area of the rectangle PQRS - Area of the rectangle ABCD

= (1750 - 1350) m²

= 400 m²
