Answer:

Q. 5x + 4y = 40 and x- 12y - 20 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

5x + 4y =40 ---(1)

X - 12y = 20 --(2)

15x+ 12y = 120

x- 12y = 20

_____________

16x = 140

X= 6.25

On putting the value of X in eq(1)

=> 5x +4y = 40

=> 31.25 + 4y = 40

=> 4y = 40-31.25

=> 4y = 8.75

=> Y = 2.1875
