(17) There is a narrow rectangular plot, reserved for a school. The length and breadth of the plot are in the ratio 2:3. At the rate Rs 50 per metre it will cost Rs 100000 to fence the plot.

What are the dimensions of the plot ?

Answer:

Hey mate if you like the answer please follow and mark as brainliest.

let the common ratio between 2:3 be 'x'

then the numbers will be 2x and 3x

firstly for for finding the dimensions of the sides we would find total perimeter of the plot.Which can only be found by dividing 100000 by 50.

Now,according to the question

total perimeter = total cost of fencing÷cost of fencing per meter.

= 100000÷50

=2000 meters

therefore , total perimeter = 2000m

Now finding the dimensions:-

2(Length + Breadth)=total perimeter

2(2x+3x)=2000m

2(5x)=2000m

2×5x=2000m

10x=2000m

x=2000m÷10

x=200m

2x(which is the length)=200 × 2=400m

3x(which is the breadth)=200 × 3=600m

therefore dimensions of the the plot=400m and 600m
