17 Three numbers are in the ratio -. If the sum of their squares is 244, find the
numbers.

The ratio of three numbers is 1/2:1/3:1/4

so , let the numbers be 1x/2 , 1x/3 and 1x/4

So, According To The Question →

(1x/2)² + (1x/3)² + (1x/4)² = 244

or, 1x²/4 + 1x²/9 + 1x²/16 = 244

or, (36x²+16x²+9x²)/144 = 244

or, 61x² = 244×144

or, x² = (244×144)/61

or, x² = 576

or, ✓x² = ✓576

or, x = 24

Therefore , Numbers are →

1x/2 = 24/2 = 12

1x/3 = 24/3 = 8

1x/4 = 24/4 = 6

Answer → The numbers are 12 , 8 and 6.
