area of the rectangular ground=(17*8)m^2=136 m^2
taking into account the path:
total area=[(17+(2*1.5))*(8+(2*1.5))]=220 m^2
area of the path=220-136=84m^2
gravel required=[84*(12/100)]=10.08m

Length of the rectangular ground = 17m          ( given)

Breadth of the same ground           = 8m           ( given)

∴ Area of the rectangular ground= (L × B ) sqr unite

                                                        =(17m×8m)

                                                         =136 m²

Length of the path= [17+(2 ×1.5]m

Breadth oh the same path = [(8+(2×1.5)]m

∴ Total area =( Area of the path + Area of the ground )

                   =[{17+(2×1.5))×(8+(2×1.5)}]=220 m²

Now we have to find out the area of the path =( Total area - Area of the ground )

                                                                              = (220-136) m²=84m²

Hence area of the path is 84m²

Number of gravel required= (84m² ×.12 m)       ( Depth of the path is 12cm.)

                                            =[84×12/100]m³

                                            =10.08m³

Hence quantity of gravels will be 10.

Ans :-10 gravels will be needed.
