18. A rectangular garden is 60 m long and 40 m wide. Through the middle of the garden run
two straight paths at right angles to each other. If the width of each path is 2 m, find the
area of the remaining portion of the garden.​

Answer:

Area of garden

60 x 40 = 2400

Area of first path

60 x 2 = 120

Area of second path

40 x 2 = 80

Add

120+80 = 200

Area of middle section

2 x 2 =  4

Area of rem

2400 - 196 = 2204
