Copper Sulphate: Now, if iron nail is dissolved in this solution a redox reaction occurs, that is there is transfer of electrons between the reactions that takes place.

Here, also since the iron is more reactive than copper it displaces copper from the solution(CuSo4) and forms iron sulphate(FeSo4) and the Copper which is displaced in turn gets deposited on the surface of the nail, which is a reddish brown deposition.
