18. An object dropped from a certain height reaches the ground in 1 second.
Assuming there is no gravity, with what velocity (m/s) must the object be thrown so that it takes
the same time to reach the ground?
(Acceleration due to gravity=10 m/s?)
(a) 5
(b) 4.9
(d) 2
(c) 3

Hey Dear,

◆ Answer -

(a) v = 5 m/s

● Explaination -

Let h be the height of the object.

By Newton's 2nd law of kinematics,

s = ut + 1/2 at^2

h = 0×1 + 1/2 × 10 × 1^2

h = 5 m

When there's no gravity, velocity of throwing object need to be -

v = h / t

v = 5 / 1

v = 5 m/s

Therefore, the object need to be thrown with velocity of 5 m/s.

Thanks...

Answer:

5m

Explanation:

by newton's 2nd law of kinematics.

s=ut+1/2at^2

h=0×1+1/2×10× 1^2h=5m
