Given,

Weight of 18 boxes = $49\frac{1}{2} kg$

                              or

                        =$\frac{99}{2} kg$

Therefore,

Weight of one box = $\frac{99/2}{18} \\\\=\frac{99}{2*18} \\\\=\frac{99}{36} \\\\=\frac{33}{12}\\ \\=2\frac{9}{12} \\\\Ans.$
