TO UNDERSTAND :

  •  \bold{area \: of \: square \pink {= s \times s}}

  • \bold{area \: of \: circle \red{ = \pi{ {r}^{2} }}}

SOLUTION :

total area of the given figure :

\sf{} = \sf{s \times s} \\\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 14 \times 14 \\\:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:=196 \: \sf{ {cm}^{2} }

unshaded area of the given figure :

\sf{} = \sf{ \pi {r}^{2}}  \\ \\\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =\dfrac{22}{7} \times{(\dfrac{14}{2})}^{2}  \\ \\\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \: =\dfrac{22}{7} \times 49 \\  \\\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 22 \times 7 \\  \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: =154 \sf{ \: {cm}^{2} }

area of shaded part :

\sf{}= \sf{total \: area - area \:of \: unshaded } \\ \\ =196 - 154  \\ \\ \huge \boxed{ = \sf{42 \: cm}^{2} }

FINAL ANSWER :

 \bold{\therefore \: area \: of \: the \: shaded \: part \:  =  {42 \: cm}^{2} }
