Explanation:

( i )The body experiences a centrifugal force away from the earth due to rotation of the Earth because of which the weight of the body decreases. The centrifugal force is maximum at the equator and minimum at the poles. Therefore, the body weighs maximum at poles and minimum at the equator. = 1.5 × 1011 m).

( ii )According to Kepler's third law of motion, the square of the time period of a planet about the sun is proportional to the cube of the semi-major of the ellipse or mean distance of the planet from the sun. i.e. T2αa3, where a is smaller, shorter is the time period.
