The answer is 2.
This a conceptual memory based question of Water of crystallisation.
When CaSO4 has 2 water molecules it is known as gypsum
It can also acquire 1/2 water molecule.
(The molecule doesn’t get halved but 1 water molecule is shared by 2 CaSO4 molecules)hence forming CaSO4.1/2H2O this is known as POP( plaster of Paris) which can be prepared by heating CaSO4.2H2O at exactly 443 K
Hope it helps.

Answer:

(CaSo4.xH2O)

molecular mass=(136+18x)

gm % of water in hydrate compound is

18x*100/(136+18x)=21

x=2

so compound is CaSO4.2H2O
