The error in the measurement of length is 1). 1%

Given: If 1% and 2% are the errors in the measurement of mass and density of a cube

To find: an error in the measurement of length

Solution:

Given, the error in measurement of mass,

Δm/m =1%

and error in measurement of density is Δd/d

=2%

Now, density, d=  mass/volume

⇒d= m/V

∴ The volume of a cube, V= m/l^{3}

Then, d= m/l^{3}

= (d/m)1/3

Then the error in measurement of length,

Δl/l ×100= 1/3 ( Δm/m ×100 + Δd/d ×100)

Δl/l ×100= 1/3( 1+2)×100

Δl/l = 100%

Therefore, The error in the measurement of length is 1%.
