The answer for Question 18 is (a) same.

The answer for Question 19 is 120 Watt.

The answer for Question 20 is (a) series combination.

  • (i) Resistors are in parallel when they are connected between the same two nodes. The voltage across each resistor within a parallel combination is exactly the same but the currents flowing through them are not the same as this is determined by their resistance value and Ohm's Law.
  • (ii)  Power is defined as rate of work done. To calculate Power,

              P = W/t

              P = 2400 J / 20 s

              P = 120 Watt

  • (iii) A circuit in which resistances are connected end to end so that there is only one path for current to flow is called as series circuit. The same current flows through the all resistances but the voltage drop will be different and proportional to the resistance.

Hence, the correct answers for Question 18,19 and 20 are- same, 120 W, series combination respectively.
