Answer:

IT is because ionic compounds in solid state do not have free electron or ions for electricity to pass,here they are not good conducter of electricty.But when they are in aqueous or molten state ,it conducts electricity because when coming to this state it is heated to overcome the intermolecular force of attraction so there is free electrons/ions for the electricity to pass.so it is a good conducter of electricity in this state .
